Kristen Mary Hernandez went to be with our Lord on September 27, 2021, at the age of 33.
She is proceeded in death by her great grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Antonio Sanchez Sr; great grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Laureno Rios; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Hermerjildo Hernandez Sr.; and her grandfather, Julio Sanchez Sr.
She is survived by her loving parents, Mary E. Hernandez, and Hermerjildo Hernandez Jr.; her siblings, Connie Moreno (Joseph Valverde), Christopher H. Hernandez (Sandra Hernandez), and Kevin Michael Hernandez (Martha Lyn Carillo); her nieces and nephews, Brittany (Jeremy), Brandon (Esmeralda), Alyssa, Hannah, Kylie, Kevin Jr., Hailey, Alazaye, Ezra, Riley, Liam, Ariela, and Maylani, in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Kristen was born on November 9, 1987, in San Antonio Texas. She graduated from South San Antonio High School west campus in 2008. After high school, she completed her associates of applied science degree in March 2011 and her Bachelor of Science in cyber security in April 2015 at Hallmark University. She then completed her master's degree in Metaphysical Humanistic science specializing in holistic healing at the Institute of Metaphysical Humanistic Science in July 2020. She completed her Usui Shiki Ryoho certification and Reiki level 2 intermediate in 2020. Kristin would eventually reach Reiki level 3 master/ teacher in September of 2020 before completing her Doctor of Philosophy, PdD in metaphysical humanistic sciences specializing in metaphysical holistic healing and graduating Summa Cum Laude that same year.
Kristen's passion was helping people through her formal education and her training as a licensed Reiki Master. She touched so many lives with her bright and energetic personality. Kristen enjoyed many hobbies including hiking, fitness, baking, dancing, traveling, the beach, and photography but she especially loved spending time with family. Kristen found success with her crystal business, Zentality HH and her photography business, Waking Moment Photography.
Kristen was deeply loved and brought immense joy to those around her. Kristen will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Words cannot express the feeling in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences, and gestures of love are truly appreciated. Her memory will be kept alive and cherished by her loving mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, and all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank Castillo Mission Funeral home and BRCC, Chaplin James Butler, Pastor Fike, and Pastor Jerome for their love and care in supporting our family.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Castillo Mission Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A formal procession will depart the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. A celebration of life will be held at City Church San Antonio, 9431 Bandera Road, San Antonio Texas, 78250 at 10:00 a.m. with services to conclude.
