Obituary

Larry Olivares was born on September 30th,1963. He was the beloved son of Rosa and Refugio Olivares.
He was sent to his eternal home on July 11th, 2025 after his courageous battle with cancer.

Yoyo, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, laughter, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. He loved everyone. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by his infectious laugh. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, full of joy and laughter and finding the humor in all situations. Forever the eternal jokester and entertainer. Our beloved Larry was made for the spotlight.

Larry is proceeded in death by his loving parents, Rosa and Refugio Olivares, his brother Refugio Olivares Jr., and sisters Cynthia Olivares and Susan Mendoza. He also leaves behind surviving siblings who adored him dearly; brothers Jerry Olivares and Jose Edward Olivares, and sisters Rosa Maria Martinez and Jeanne Capelo. Larry was the favorite Uncle loved by all his nieces and nephews who shared in his playful spirit.

Those who knew Larry well remember him going everywhere on his bike. No trip was ever too far for him but he always returned with a story to tell. His infectious smile and spirit, could be heard and felt a mile away. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Larry Olivares will be held on July 20th, 2025 at Castillo funeral home between 4 pm and 8 pm with prayer service at 6 pm.  The burial will be conducted at San Fernando Cemetery #2 on July 21, 2025.

Although Larry's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and laughter in all that we do.
