Lee Roy Ochoa Sr. was born at Harlingen Army Airfield Base in Harlingen, Texas on December 24, 1950. On January 17, 2022, he passed away peacefully at the age of 71 surrounded by his children. Lee was affectionately known as "Lee Roy" or "Mr. Lee" by those who knew him best. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Grace Robledo Ochoa, his parents, Johnnie Joe (Rocco) Ochoa and Petra Ochoa, and his brothers, Johnny Joe Ochoa Jr., and David Ochoa. Lee is survived by his children Stefanie Robledo Ochoa and Lee Roy Ochoa Jr., grandchildren Joshua Ochoa Perez, Isaiah Ochoa Perez, and Lauryn Ochoa Perez, brothers, sisters, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Lee graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1969 as Senior Class President. On December 26, 1971, he married Grace Robledo, his childhood sweetheart since middle school. Lee attended Trinity University, San Antonio College and UTSA pursuing a Computer Science degree. He served in the military as a U.S. Air Force Medical Air Vac from 1971 to 1990. He was reinstated into the U.S. Airforce Medical Air Vac 433rd Wing for two and a half more years during the Operation Desert Storm War campaign. From 1982 to 1985 he worked as a Computer Programmer for the City of San Antonio. In 1985 he started his career with USAA as a System Programmer Analyst until he retired after 15 years in 2000. In 2006 Lee began working at HEB as a Loss Control Greeter. He retired in December 2021 after 15 years of dedicated service. He was as an active member of St. Luke's Men's Club, Coastal Conservation Association, a Fiesta NIOSA volunteer for 30 years, Co- Chair at St. Mary's Oyster Bake for 35 years. He was a proud member of VFW Post 76 where he helped fellow veterans with daily activities and doctor appointments. Lee enjoyed numerous outdoor activities including salt-water fishing, hunting, gardening, and BBQing. He was known for his delicious brisket that was thoroughly enjoyed by family, friends, and attendees at catered events. He loved Tejano, Chicano Soul and Motown music, dancing, playing the lotto, going to Kickapoo Casino, telling funny stories, and supporting the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Oilers (Tennessee Titans), and Houston Texans. Lee had a strong work ethic. He was a family man who did everything to provide for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need without asking for anything in return.  Lee was widowed for 9 years and greatly missed his beautiful wife, Grace. He is now reunited with her in Heaven. We love you Dad. You will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Castillo funeral home from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm with a chapel service to be held at 6:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at St. Matthew Catholic Church at 1:00 pm with a memorial service with military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery to follow at 2:45 pm. The family will receive friends and family for a celebration of life at VFW Post 9186 (650 E. White San Antonio, TX 78214) following the services from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
