Louis "Louie" Lara, was called by our Lord and returned to his heavenly home on September 9, 2020 at the age of 75 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately brought him peace.

Louie was born in San Antonio, TX on December 28, 1944. Louie was blessed with an adoring and devoted wife of 54 years, and a loving family. Louie took delight in cooking his favorite dishes for his family and also enjoyed grilling for family gatherings and when cheering for his favorite sports teams. He enjoyed going on long-distance road-trips to visit family.

Louie is preceded in death by his son Luis Lara Jr.; his parents, Juan and Julia Lara; his siblings, Joe Lara, Antonio Lara, Juan Soto, Cleofas Soto and Rosa Lara.

Louie is survived by his wife, Eva; his son Henry Lara; his daughters Christine Mendiola (Rene), Margie Loza (Jorge) and Eva Martinez (Ernesto); his grandchildren Derek, Damian & Daniel Mendiola; Ismael, Joshua & Alessandra Loza; Jackie & Alexa Martinez; Elizabeth Lara & Ethan Rosales; great-grandchildren Isabelle Mendiola and Juni Loza; his siblings, Jesse Lara, Julia Lara and Lupe Lara and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louie treasured the beautiful memories he created with his family, extended family & many friends, and will be dearly missed by all.
