Lucia C. Calderon

June 30, 1929 – January 04, 2024

Lucia C, Calderon, loving mom, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend passed peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, January 4th, 2024.  She was born in San Antonio, Texas and was  the daughter of  Father Timoteo Q. Contreras and Mother Hipolita U. Contreras.  Lucia was known by all her friends as Lucy.

Lucia attended to the 9th grade at Irving middle school.  She held many jobs during her lifetime, but she was most fond of being able to work at Kelly Air Force Base as a secretary. She married Victor P Calderon who served in Europe During World War II.  and remained married until he passed away.

Lucia was involved with the Guadalupanas of St. Timothy Catholic Church, proud to be part of the youth parent of St. Timothys,  Devoted to the rosary, belonged to the Parents Teachers Association and was a participant of the Good Samaritan Center Senior Citizen Program, and was dedicated to work the voting polls.  Among her hobbies, Sewing, Crocheting, reading, solving crossword puzzles, crafts, playing pool, puzzles, playing cards and dominoes watching novellas, Jeopardy and wheel of fortune as favorite shows.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was predeceased by Ambrosio Contreras uncle, Joe Calderon, brother-in-law.  Living children Daughter Stella Calderon Caballero husband Antonio Caballero Jr.  Daughter Nancy Calderon Leos.  Daughter Raquel C. Molina-Bartlett and Husband Michael Keith Bartlett II and living niece Florencia U. Contreras.   Grand children include Grandson Victor G . C. Leos and Wife Vanessa April Leos, Grandson Michael Keith Bartlett III, Granddaughter Krystle C. Caballero-Torres and Husband Adrian Roel Torres and Great Grandchild Vincent Ace Leos.

Services for Lucia C Calderon will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Castillo Funeral Home .   Visitation from 3:30 to 8:00 pm.  Rosary service at 6:30 p.m.  A mass of remembrance will be held at St. Timothy Catholic church a 9:30 a.m.  Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
