Lucila (Lucy) Perches Fischer of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 19th 2020. She was born June 19, 1932 in Ciudad Melchor Muzquiz Coahuila, Mexico to Julio Perches and Aurora Dominguez. Lucila married her first husband Tomas Jimenez Benavides, in 1949 and came to the United States, becoming a United States Citizen shortly thereafter. Lucila and Tomas chose San Antonio, Texas to lay down roots. Here, they bought a house on Aurora Street and made a lovely home where they raised their family. Lucila and Tomas had four sons: Richard, Tomas Jr., Jerry, and Hector. Tomas passed away when the boys were still young. Lucila devoted herself to the care of her children and raised and supported her sons on her own which is a testament to her strong work ethic and tireless devotion to family. Later in life Lucila married her second husband Edward Fischer, on December 9th 1994, they were married for 15 years. In her lifetime Lucila worked as a cafeteria worker for local schools and hospitals. Later, she worked at Kelly Air Force base, where she retired. She continued to give back to her friends and family with her home cooked meals and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lucila enjoyed gardening, taking trips to the casino with family and friends, and her many telenovelas. Lucila brought many joys to her family and friends and will be missed by both.
Lucila was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Herlinda and Azucena; first husband Tomas; and second husband Edward. Lucila is survived by her sons Richard Benavides of San Antonio, Texas; Tomas Benavides and his wife Josephine Benavides of San Antonio, Texas; Jerry Benavides and his wife Gayla Benavides of Kilgore, Texas and Hector Benavides of San Antonio, Texas. Lucila is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Elaine Benavides, Stacie Dominguez and her husband Richard Dominguez; Rebecca Benavides Soni and her husband Rajat Soni of Kirkland, Washington; Crystal Torres; Lucille Duncan and her husband Sean Duncan; Amber Benavides Villagomez and her husband Juan Villagomez of Kilgore, Texas; Tommie Christine Benavides, and Jared Benavides. Lucila is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren: Tatum Dominguez, Richard Benavides, Corina Lobo, Emily Torres, Mira Beatriz Soni, Piya Letizia Soni, Rowan Thomas Duncan, Oran Joseph Duncan, Nolan Chief Duncan, Christopher Thomas Herrera, Avery Rae Herrera, Bella Villagomez, Justin Ethan Villagomez, and Sophia Villagomez.
The funeral service will be held at Mission Castillo Funeral Home on Tuesday April 28th, 2020. Visitation will be held from 9:30am-12:30pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park at 1:30pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mission Castillo Funeral Home.
