Lucio Escalante De Hoyos Sr. left this world to be with our heavenly father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 10, 2021 at 3:13 a.m.  He was 88 years old and is survived by his wife of 65 years Martha Rodriguez De Hoyos and his sons and daughters; Raymond De Hoyos, Richard De Hoyos, Alex De Hoyos, Anna Ramos, San Juana Martinez, Jaime De Hoyos, Lucio De Hoyos Jr.  and Adrian De Hoyos along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Funeral services will take place on October 22, 2021 at Castillo Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas at 6 p.m. for a private service.  Lucio De Hoyos Sr. was born on December 15, 1932 and was part of 13 siblings born to his father, Arcadio De Hoyos and mother Anita De Hoyos. There are only 4  left surviving siblings that reside in Mexico.  Lucio's life began as a rancher and farmer alongside his dad and also worked the harvest fields all over the United States with his uncles. In his late teen years he moved to California where he worked for the railroad, City Of Los Angeles and Lewis Foods where he was the head mechanic for numerous years. He later returned to Texas in 1968 where he worked as a carpenter and construction worker under Local Labor Union 93 in San Antonio.  He will be greatly missed but he lives on in the hearts of those that knew him and loved him. We celebrate his long life and journey to heaven.
