Lucy
Valadez
March 6, 1937 – June 1, 2022
Our mother, Lucy Valadez, was called home by our Lord on Wednesday, June 1st. Mama was preceded in death by our Father, Antonio Valadez Sr. just 3 weeks prior on May 10th. The day after Daddy passed, Mama said he'd come for her, but she wasn't sure she was ready. Later that day, she called for him. She said Tony, get my shoes, I'm ready to go with you. They were married 67 years, and their's was a very special love-- all consuming and no holds barred. They adored one another so it seems fitting that even in death, they couldn't remain apart for long. Our Mama was a very strong woman who tended to our father and all her children but especially so when any one of us was ill. She'd move mountains for us because that's what a Mother does. Her faith saw her through difficult times throughout her life. She and our father showed us about love and the sacrifices that need to be made at times. My siblings and I feel lost with the level of grief and emptiness we feel at this time.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Valadez Sr, her parents, Dario & Maria de la Luz Valdez, her sister, Ercilia Flores, brother, Juan Valdez, grandson, Larry Antonio Valadez, Great-Granddaughter, Emma Noelle Villasana. She's survived by her children: Mary Alice Ramon (Eddie), Antonio Valadez Jr. (Melinda), Larry Valadez Sr. (Irene), Leticia Valadez (Les Smeltzer, deceased) & Stepdaughter, Diana Vasquez (Jose), Grandchildren: Lucy Villasana (Tony), Larry Valadez Jr. and Jennifer Valadez. She's also survived by her sisters, Dora Valdez & Guillermina Valdez and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We wish to extend our gratitude and thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice for the care shown to our parents over the last few years. Extending love and sincerest gratitude to Chelsie Huntley, RN, and Alicia Vargas, CNA. Both Chelsie and Alicia showed a tremendous amount of respect and love not only to our parents but to all our family.
