Luis E Guerrero passed away 12/29/2020 and the age of 87 in his home in Floresville, Tx. Luis was born in Marion, Tx. on November 26, 1933 to Presentacion Guerrero and Antonia Escamilla Guerrero.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1953 to fight in the Korean War. In 1970 he served a tour in Vietnam, where he earned several medals including the Purple Heart Medal and the Commendation Medal. He proudly served his country for 20 years before retiring in 1973, after the passing of his first son. His overseas assignments included Germany (assigned to the Royal Canadian Air Force under NATO), Honduras (where he served with the CIA as an advisor to the Honduras Air Force), and Thailand. In addition to overseas, he served five Stateside assignments that include New York and California.

After retiring from the U.S. Military he went to work for Montgomery Wards as an A/C and Heating   technician, retiring in 1993.

He enjoyed fishing, dancing, music, BBQ and drinking beer with friends and family and making people laugh. He and his wife were a part of the "Aurelia's Kitchen Breakfast Club" in Floresville, where they met for breakfast almost every day. Luis was also a proud member of the San Antonio Paricutin Civic and Educational Foundation for 27 years. Their mission was to provide scholarships to students and other charitable relief in the community.

Mr. Guerrero is preceded in death by his oldest son, Roy Guerrero and survived by his wife of 63 years, Amelia Ortiz Guerrero, his 3 surviving children: David Guerrero and his wife Elise Guerrero, Luis Guerrero and Belinda Romero and her husband Rocky Romero, 4 grandchildren: Jeremy Guerrero, Joshua Guerrero, Molly Gardner Romero and Tori Gardner Romero, and 1 great-grandchild: Madeline Guerrero.
