SGT. Luis Francisco Vasquez, 43, was born August 26, 1979, in San Antonio Texas, and unfortunately passed way unexpectedly on April 15, 2023.

Luis served in the United States Army Reserves from 1998-2014. Luis loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. He enjoyed camping and barbecuing and he adored his pets. He was loving husband, father, son and brother.

He is survived by his wife Jessica Vasquez of 16 years; son, Johnathan Rene Vasquez; daughters, Alexis Marie Vasquez, Brianna Lilly Vasquez, Amelia Arianna Vasquez and Esmeralda Sofia Vasquez;  parents, Esmeralda Cantù and Francisco Almaguer; sisters, Christina Ann Vasquez and Mary Gloria Almaguer; brother, Trinidad Almaguer; as well as multiple uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Luis is preceded in death by his father, Eusebio Cruz Vasquez; sister, Adela Ann Vasquez, maternal grandparents, Juan F. and Maria R. Cantù, and paternal grandparents, Eusevio and Candelaria Vasquez.

He will truly be missed by his wife, children, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and Army buddies. He will forever be in our hearts and we thank him for his service. God bless us all.

The Celebration of the Life for Luis Francisco Vasquez will be held at CASTILLO FUNERAL HOME, 520 N. General McMullen Drive, San Antonio, TX 78228, on TUESDAY, May 2, 2023, with Visitation form 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and a  Rosary to be recited at  6 p.m. Services will be WEDNESDAY, MAY 3, 2023, with an 11:30 a.m. Departure in Procession for a 12 Noon Mass at St. Ann Catholic Church. Burial Services at San Fernando ll, 746 Castroville Rd.
