Luisa "Chita" Garcia Rodriguez, born November 22, 1923, age 96, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Chita was born in Floresville, Texas and spent most of her life in Laredo, Texas. She later moved to San Antonio, Texas where she spent her last years surrounded by the love and care of her daughter Carmen Rodriguez, son-in-law Joe Ruben Rodriguez, granddaughters Jo Ann Owens and Cecilia Frausto, and great-granddaughter Jacqueline Rodriguez Cruz. She is preceded in death by her father Trinidad Garcia, her mother, Dolores Garcia, spouse Gregorio Rodriguez, son Manuel Rodriguez, sisters Adelia Zapata, Estella Garcia, Vivian Riveria, and brother Alfredo Garcia. She is survived by daughters Carmen Rodriguez, Maria Salazar, and Gloria Solis; brothers John Trinidad Garcia and Henry Garcia; sisters Leonor Gutierrez and Dolores Montes; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and loving cousins. Chita was pure and kind with a cheerful heart and gracious spirit. She was a loving and dedicated sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother. A devout Catholic of unwavering faith, she was the pillar of strength and faith for her family and they were her greatest love. She embraced every moment with them with hugs, kisses, storytelling, and laughter. There was never a parting without her special blessing. One of her many gifts was her talent of sewing, which she shared throughout her life with her family and friends through making them beautiful garments. She enjoyed talking over coffee and always found joy in life's simple blessings. While her family will miss her dearly, her beautiful soul has left an impact on them that is everlasting. Visitation will be held at Castillo Mission Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. On Saturday, January 4, 2020, Family & Friends will gather at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 211 W. Meyer Street, Falls City, TX, 78113, for Viewing at 9 a.m. & followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
