Lupe O. Borrego was born in Gonzales Texas on April 7, 1931 to Lupe Orduna and Angelica Mireles. She was the the first of four children and took her place in heaven on Thursday, January 7, 2021.

Lupe moved to San Antonio in 1943 where she grew up to be a magnificent woman, self-taught in everything she did. She was very hard-working, headstrong, resilient, and always very matter-of-fact.  She worked at Mario's restaurant for over 46 years dedicated to providing a very good life for her children.

Lupe was very family oriented, caring and generous to all.  She was a spirited protector with strong will. She was beautiful  inside and out and had never ending unconditional love for her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Lupe enjoyed music, dancing, the color green and lots of wind chimes.  She was known by her children as a loving Mother with a big heart that overflowed with compassion for anyone in need.  Her grandchildren loved her and saw her as very charismatic with a great sense of humor.

Lupe was preceded in death by her parents Lupe and Angelica Orduna; brother Fidel Orduña; sister Mary Hernandez; son Alex González; and daughters Mary Castillo and Lucy Borrego.  She is survived by one brother Joe Orduña and her five children, Santiago Castillo & wife Ruth Soda Castillo, Tony Borrego Jr & wife Yanet Borrego , Lupe Aleman,  Ernest Borrego & wife Maria Borrego, Brenda O. Borrego, 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren.

There are many that knew her and loved her, and will continue to do so until the end of their time. Her smile and warm funny greetings will forever be missed. She was an unforgettable individual.  May She Rest in Paradise and enjoy her forever.
