Lupe M
Chavez
July 19, 1932 – March 5, 2026
Lupe M. Chavez went to be with her Heavenly Father, Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born July 19, 1932 in Corpus Christi, TX. She married the one and only love of her life, Fred M Chavez, February 20, 1954. They were married for 36 years prior to Fred's death in August 1990.
Lupe was preceded in death by husband Fred; son David (date of death October 2021); her parents, Robert and Maria Medina; her parents-in-law, Francisco and Petra Chavez; and her siblings, Raymond C Medina, Minerva Hange, and Emma Hernandez. She is also preceded by several dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and dear friends.
She was a proud Air Force wife of 25 years and worked as a Bookkeeper and retired in 1995 from Walgreens after 25 years of service. She was also proud to be a beloved mother to 5 children David (wife Yolanda), Ophelia/Faye, Lucille /Lucy, Fred and Edward (wife Julie), but she was just as proud to be called Grandma, Tia and good friend. After her retirement, she devoted her time to several ministries such as Funeral Services and Legion of Mary through her church at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church where she was a parishioner for 56 years. She had a heart of gold, always praying for others or supporting them emotionally and financially whenever she was needed and did so without hesitation. She enjoyed traveling and going to Las Vegas with her best friends. Her greatest love was in sports, an avid watcher of both Pro and Collegiate for all Texas teams. Her love for Jesus, her family and extended family will be greatly missed by 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren.
We will hold her dear in our hearts and always remember her.
