Luz Bocanega Martinez was very hard working at an early age, and yet as a single mother managed to get her GED in 1960 from Fox Tech High School in San Antonio, Texas. In 1968 Luz met Ricardo Martinez while working at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio in San Antonio, Texas during the 1968 World's Fair. They shortly married right after and moved to Los Angeles, California to set roots with their three children operating their custodial business in Los Angeles for many years. In 1979 Ricardo & Luz decided to return back to San Antonio, Texas to once again call Texas home to provide a fresh life start for themselves, daughters and youngest grandchildren. Luz & Ricardo operated and ran a successful trucking company for many decades that provided stable financial support the family look up to. Luz Martinez was a wonderful and gracious woman who was the family's cornerstone. She spent many years caring for her beloved Grandma Tito who passed away in 1991, she was committed to showing her family how to respect your elders while showing her grandmother appreciation, love and dignity. Luz's home was also known as Caretaker Hub Central over the years. She always managed to invite her siblings and other family members during their time of emotional, financial or medical need, putting the needs of others before herself. If Luz wasn't caring for someone, she always had someone at her home enjoying a fabulous homemade meal. She was an active member of the Pecan Valley Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses in which she dedicated her life to Jehovah God, delivering the truth to her neighbors while having the hope of the resurrection....( Acts 24:15): And I have hope toward God, which hope these men themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
