Luz Marie Requenes

Born on February 24, 1967, Luz Marie became one with the stars on April 9, 2025, with her family by her side. She is survived by her loving children: Turi, Mark, Michael, and Melissa; her beloved mother, Maria Cristina; her wonderful sisters Christy (Tomás), Marta (Sean), and Blanca (Anthony); caring daughter in law, Tenaya; adoring grandchildren Natalya, Lila, Ayden, and Aislynn; and numerous nieces, nephews, granddogs, family members, and friends. All of whom will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Lucy was the heart of our home and family. She was naturally funny, endlessly selfless, and incredibly strong. She had a way of making people laugh without even trying. She constantly put others before herself and cared deeply for everyone around her. No matter what challenges came her way, she faced them with courage and grace. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Her life was filled with music—always playing, always present—and she never missed a chance to dance the night away at family parties.

For 23 years, Lucy worked at Powell Elementary School where she touched countless lives with her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication to the students and staff. Her work left a lasting impression in the school community just as she did in her home. She will be deeply missed by all her friends.

Lucy's light will continue to shine through those who loved her, and her spirit will remain in every laugh, every song, and every shared moment of joy. Lucy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished moments.
