Lydia was a working wife and mother for the majority of her lifetime. She married Jesus Flores Cevallos in 1947, a Second World War veteran who preceded her In death in 1974. Lily obtained a General Education Degree at St. Phillips Junior College in her early 50's. She became an Early Learning Teacher's aide until her retirement. She loved dancing and creating ceramics. Lydia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially liked to travel and her favorite spot was Vegas.
Lydia is also preceded in death by her son, Michael Anthony Cevallos, a graduate of the 1983 class of Columbia University.
Lily is loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Esther Gomez; sons, Steve Cevallos (Mary), Gerard Cevallos (Sylvia), Robert J Cevallos (Eugenia), and Paul Cevallos; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters; Rebecca Arredondo, Oralia Escobedo; brothers, Joe Escobedo (Mamie), Jesse Escobedo (Margie); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will take place at Castillo Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home for a final viewing from 8:00am until 9:30am followed by a procession for a funeral mass at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00am. Burial to follow at San Fernando II Cemetery.
