Lydia O
Reyes
May 28, 1930 – February 6, 2026
On Friday, February 6, 2026, Lydia O. Reyes peacefully left this earth and joyfully entered paradise, her forever heavenly home. She joined a host of angels at the throne singing, Holy, Holy, Holy.
Lydia was born on May 28, 1930, in Montemorelos, Mexico. She attended sewing trade school and became a phenomenal seamstress. She married Mario T Reyes at the age of twenty-five. Together they migrated to Texas, where they built a family rooted in faith, love, and hard work. She proudly became a US Citizen in the early '80s. Through every season of life, she remained steadfast in her devotion to God and to her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Mario T Reyes, with whom she shared a lifetime of commitment, sacrifice, and partnership. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Guadalupe Rodriguez and Eudelia Garcia; her son, Juan Antonio Reyes; her daughter, Idolisa Garcia; and her son-in-law, Baldemar Garcia.
Lydia was the heart of her family. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Irma Perez (Roger) and Lydia Valenzuela, and her son, Mario Reyes Jr.
She was a proud and devoted grandmother. She leaves behind a precious legacy of sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Each one was a joy to her; she carried them in her heart and in her daily prayers.
Grandchildren: Jessica Campos (Ramon), Vanessa Perez, Marissa Sanchez (Tim), Elysse Reyes, Nancy Garcia, Daniel Garcia (Candice), David Garcia, Michael Garcia, Oracio Valenzuela Jr. (Elise), Jude Aguilar, and Andre Valenzuela (Claire).
Great-grandchildren: Annalise Sanchez, Eliseo Sanchez, Ramon Campos, Jesenia Campos, Nanelli Garcia, Liam Garcia, Juliette Garcia, Dylan Aguilar, and Caroline Valenzuela.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Julia Garcia, Isabela Pena, Nelia Lopez, Eva Alanis and Tere Guzman. Their sisterly bond was a beautiful reflection of unconditional love. They shared a lifetime of memories that instilled a deep value of family amongst their children.
Those who knew Lydia experienced a woman of quiet strength, deep prayer, and unwavering faith. She taught by example what it means to trust God through hardship. She truly exemplified faith and hope. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and going on adventures with her loved ones. Even in her later years, she loved a good manicure and blingy jewelry. She was a woman of faith, fun and feisty! A delightful soul.
While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the promise she believed with all her heart: that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! Her legacy lives on in the faith she planted, the family she nurtured, and the countless prayers she lifted over those she loved. Her sweet aroma is present in the family bouquet that she left behind. Her life was a testimony of perseverance, devotion and grace.
She is home, dancing on streets of gold!
