Obituary

Magdalena Medina Sepulveda passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2025. She was surrounded by family and friends as she closed her eyes for the final time and made her way to see our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was 91 years old.

She was born in Laredo, Texas, on May 25, 1934, to parents Guillermo and Apolonia Medina. She was the youngest of nine siblings. She grew up during the Great Depression and made many personal sacrifices to help her family. In January of 1955, she married Ramiro G. Sepulveda; both were happily married until he passed in January of 2015. From humble beginnings, they raised five children, first living in Laredo and then permanently residing in San Antonio, Texas.

She had various jobs though her lifetime from working at Kress in Laredo to Dunkin Donuts in San Antonio in the early 1970's. From there she spent over 15 years as a cafeteria worker at Loma Park Elementary School in the EISD and Hobby Middle School in NISD.

She was a devoted mother to Ramiro Jr., Hector, Jaime, Debbie, and Richard. She made sacrifices every day to ensure that all of her children had a better life than she did. She always called her children "her pride and joy". Her fondest memories were remembering her brothers and sisters from her youth and constantly telling stories about them. But her most "special" memories were those of family sitting and talking around the kitchen table during birthdays and holidays. This is when she was the happiest.

She enjoyed baby-sitting her five grandchildren and was "Tita" to them. Often, they would say, "run Tita, run" as they played outside. Sabrina, Andrea, Brett, Matthew, and Jeffrey will dearly miss her.

Magdalena was preceded in death by her husband, Ramiro, and is survived by children Ramiro Jr. (Susan), Hector (Kim), Jamie (Charlotte), Debbie, Richard (Mary); grandchildren Sabrina, Andrea, Brett, Matthew, and Jeffrey; great-grandchildren Elena and Leo; and numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and friends who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
