Manuel R.
Ferdin
January 24, 1949 – November 18, 2023
Manuel R. Ferdin passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 18, 2023. Born on January 24, 1949, in McKinney, Texas, Manuel was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Manuel was drafted by the U.S. Army during his Senior year of high school and honorably served his time in the Vietnam War. He continued his military service after returning as a U.S. Army Reservist. Manuel was a strong family man that always put his family first. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family or friends. He was dependable and always ready to help anyone who reached out. Manuel was a dedicated man with strong work ethics but had a playful spirit. He loved playing jokes, teasing his wife and kids, and was quick to throw himself on the floor to play with his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, and taking family trips. He was known to fire up the grill on any given day, rain or shine, especially during football season while cheering for his team, the Dallas Cowboys.
He is reunited in heaven with his parents: Roberto H. & Eusebia R. Ferdin; brothers: Raul, Robert, and Daniel; his father and mother-in-law: Jose G. and Carmen Monzon; and his compadre Lupe Martinez.
Manuel is survived by his childhood friend and loving wife of 51 years, Maria M. Ferdin; children: Angie (John) Trevino, Syndy (Pascual) Villegas, Jacob (Anita) Ferdin; grandchildren: Nathaniel, Aiden, Clarissa, and Jade; family members: Juanita Martinez, Debbie (Benny) Aguilar, Maria Inez Contreras, Iliana (Raymond) Rodriguez, Jisela (Victor) Moreno as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Manuel will be dearly missed but will be carried in our hearts forever.
