Manuel Vela Jr.'s Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother Manuel Vela Jr. who died on July 22, 2022.
Manny, as he preferred to be called, was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 12th, 1953. He was the fourth of five children born to Manuel Sr. and Lilia Vela who preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother Arthur Vela and his sisters Leticia Vela, Diane Jacinto and Azalia Medrano.
Manny never married nor had his own children but he was loved dearly by his many nephews and nieces, including Michelle, Michael, Yvonne, Selena, Andy, Marisa and Joey.
While we can share very little about Manny's public life or accomplishments, we can say with absolute certainty that Manny was called to stand in this world to reveal God's love.
He showed kindness to all, he shared what he had selflessly with others, he never once complained of the hardships that befell him.
He showed us, by his example, that we are created in love and that love is the one true source of human life.
