Obituary

Manuel V Padilla, 85, husband of Gloria Padilla, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on December 14, 1937, in San Antonio Texas, a son of the of the late Dora Villarreal and Manuel Padilla.

Manuel was a graduate of Louis W Fox High School know today as Fox Tech High School. As a member of the National Guard, he showed commitment and integrity, values in which he lived his life by. He was a sports fan whose favorite teams were the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and the San Antonio Spurs. He enjoyed playing pool and was a history buff with knowledge and skill that impressed those lucky enough to be around him. As a husband he was loving and protective, always putting the needs of his wife above his own. As a father and grandfather, he was the best any child could ask for, always attentive and involved. Losing Manuel is incomprehensible, and we are thankful for the years we had with him. May he rest in peace, watching over those he loved until reunited once again.

In addition to his parents, Dora Villarreal and Manuel Padilla, he was also preceded in death by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Family members include his wife of 59 years Gloria Flores Padilla; a daughter Norma Padilla; two sons, Mario Padilla and Manuel F. Padilla Jr. (Stella Navarra); a grandson, Phoenix Zorola; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will record guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm for visitation with a Rosary Service beginning at 6:00 pm.
