Manuel E. Reyes Jr.

October 25, 1950 - February 19, 2025

Manuel E. Reyes Jr. was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 19, 2025 at the age of 74. Manuel E. Reyes Jr. graduated from John F. Kennedy high school in 1969 and worked some odd jobs until he enlisted in the United States Navy and served between April 20th 1971 thru June 10th 1974 with a deployment to Vietnam during his service to our Country. He then came back to San Antonio where he met the love of his life Juanita Munoz who he married on August 20th 1979. Upon separating the U.S. Navy He worked at Lacks Furniture and attended St. Philip's College where he obtained an Associate's Degree in Auto Mechanics. He eventually found his passion working for the U.S. Government at Kelly Air Force Base serving and retiring after 24 years as an "Expediter". After retiring from Kelly Air Force Base he then went on to work for H‑E‑B Warehouse as a warehouseman/forklift driver for an additional 13 years until he retired for good.

Manuel E. Reyes Jr. enjoyed being visited by his children and grandchildren and spending time with them. He enjoyed hanging out with his dog Max and playing the guitar or listening to music and dancing. If you knew him, you know he loved taking things apart, even if he couldn't put them back together again. He enjoyed sports, barbecues and drinking a few brews with anyone who would stop by, but most of all his cousins who were like brothers Ruben and Carlos Lujano, Chuey and "Primo" Joe Reyes.

He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel Reyes Sr., Beatrice Cuellar, his beloved Aunt Mary Lujano and his twin brother Basilio Reyes. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Juanita M. Reyes, (Son) Fernando Munoz and Wife Crystal Martinez Munoz, (Daughters) Melissa Ann Reyes and Laura Reyes, his furry companion Max Reyes, sister Mary Morales and husband Benny, Rosie(ChaCha) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Castillo Funeral Home at 520 N. General McMullen, San Antonio, Texas 78228. A public viewing will be held at 4pm to 6pm followed by a Rosary Service at 6pm on Tuesday March 11, 2025. On Wednesday March 12th 2025 a Church Service will start at 9:30am and will leave from Castillo Funeral Home at 10:15-10:30am and proceed to Fort Sam Houston Cemetery with a burial service that begins at 11:30am.
