August 8, 1944 – January 19, 2023
Manuel Mayen Sr. was called home to Heaven on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the age of 78. Manuel was born on August 8, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Oscar and Mary Mayen. Manuel is survived by his loving girlfriend of 18 years Lucy Hernandez; his son Manuel Mayen Jr., daughters Gina Teniente and Katherine Rosas (Juan); 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and siblings Oscar Mayen, Robert Mayen, Mary Vargas, Elizabeth Shafer, and Stella Mirabel. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart at 9:00am from Castillo Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, for a 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Catholic Church.
