Obituary

Manuela Barco Levine, age 76, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2025.

Born on November 13, 1948, in Lytle, Texas, Manuela lived a life defined by faith, compassion, and devotion to her family and community. As a beloved wife to Lonnie Joe Levine and a devoted mother to eight children—Norma, Irvin, Criselda, Veronica, Jason, James, Henry, and Jerry—Manuela's life was rooted in love. She was also the proud grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Manuela dedicated her life to nurturing others. A housewife by vocation, she poured her strength into raising her children and offering support to countless others who found comfort in her presence. As a deacon at her church, she was a spiritual mother to many—always ready with a prayer, a warm meal, or a word of encouragement. Her heart was big enough for all of God's children, and her home was a refuge to many.

To celebrate her life and spirit, we share this poem:

"A Mother to Many"
Her arms were wide, her prayers ran deep,
For every soul she vowed to keep.
A home she made, not just with hands,
But with her heart's unspoken plans.
She gave, she served, through joy and strife—
A quiet force, a faithful life.

Manuela's life was a testament to unconditional love, unshakable faith, and the lasting power of kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
