Marcelo G. Gallegos, Jr. passed away on May 20, 2024, at the blessed age of 89. He was born in Charlotte, Texas, on September 30, 1934, to the late Marcelo Sr. and Manuela Gallegos. Marcelo was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He loved to spend time with his family, especially out at the family ranch in Bigfoot, Texas. Marcelo was a great mechanic- he could fix any car that came across his path- and he made sure his daughters knew about car maintenance and how to troubleshoot. He loved to watch and support the Dallas Cowboys, he also enjoyed racing cars and watching boxing matches. In his younger days Marcelo used to box and taught those fundamentals on how to throw and dodge a punch to his brothers. One of his favorite pastimes was singing- he enjoyed singing anywhere and everywhere, especially some of his favorites like "Volver, Volver" with his daughters.

Marcelo is reunited in Heaven with his beloved Wife Ramona Gallegos, parents Marcelo Sr. and Manuela Gallegos, son Luis Marcelo Gallegos, sisters Josefina Aguilar, Evangelina Gonzalez, and Aurora Varner, and brother Robert Gallegos, Sr. Marcelo is survived by his daughters Alamar "Marty" Gallegos (JoAnn Trevino), Irene Gallegos, Maria Louisa Mendez(Anthony Mendez), and Rebecca Ann Hernandez (Leroy Hernandez); 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren; brothers Raymond Gallegos, Sr., David Gallegos Sr., Victor Gallegos; sisters Guadalupe Perez and Alice Parker; and dear friend Alice Cardenas; along with numerous extended family and friends. The family would like to thank Morningside Manor nursing home staff for all their love and compassion while taking care of our beloved Marcelo in his last days.

Visitation to take place on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends will depart in procession at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, for a Funeral Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II. Marcelo will be carried to his eternal resting place by his beloved pallbearers: Anthony Mendez, Jr., Guadalupe Reyna, Robert Gallegos, Jr., Raymond Gallegos, Jr., Marcelo Gaitan, and Marcelo Ramiro Gaitan, Jr.
