Margaret De
La Torre
March 14, 1961 – May 12, 2022
Margaret De La Torre went to be with our Lord on May 12, 2022, at the age of 61.
Margaret was born on March 14, 1961, in San Antonio Texas to Rosendo and Delia De La Torre. She worked at DeZavala Elementary (SAISD) for more than 20 years. She shaped so many young lives working as a special needs educator. She loved dearly her precious yorkies. Margaret and her husband Gilbert shared a 36-year adventure and marriage together. She played an enormous role in the lives of her children and grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life.
She inspired those around her to be better individuals. Her capacity for generosity knew no bounds. She was someone who would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. Margaret loved when family and friends got together. Those times exist in our memories and will be cherished forever. We loved her caring ways, she will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on.
There are no words that can express the feelings in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.
She is preceded in death by her parents Rosendo and Delia De La Torre and her siblings, David De La Torre, Manuel De La Torre and Gloria Garcia.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Alvarez; children, Eric De La Torre (Michelle), Justin Alvarez (Martha), and Megan Alvarez; grandchildren, Annabeth Alvarez, Cristian Alvarez, Jade-Lynn De La Torre and Jordyn De La Torre; siblings, Alicia Mesa, George De La Torre (Francis), and Jeannette Montoya; in addition to extended family and friends.
