Our Dear Mother, Margarita Salazar Martinez, sadly passed away at home peacefully on 8/27/2024 at the age of 96.

Margarita was born in San Antonio on 7/3/1928 to Rodolfo Salazar and Felipa Salazar.  She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love.  A friend to many, she was a cherished Jehovah community member, leaving a legacy of kindness and strength.

Our mother was strong-willed, patient, and trusted in Jehovah, God's promises for a future with no more pain, suffering, sorrow, and death.  She dedicated her life to Jehovah, and she trusted that if her life in this world would end, she would be in Jehovah's memory and await her time to be resurrected to a paradise on earth – John 5:28, 29. Until then, Mom, we love you and miss you so much.

Margarita is preceded in death by her granddaughter Sarah Ann Martinez, her husband Andres Martinez, great-grandson Brian A Rivera, granddaughter Sonia Gaitan, and daughter Esther Martinez-Ziemba. She is survived by her children, Andres Martinez Jr. (Connie), Anita Martinez, Rachel Martinez Victoria (Bergdahl), Diana McKenzie (Michael), Lillian Watts (Paul), and Ann Celia Martinez, 31 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, and 60 great-great-grandchildren.

We find comfort in knowing that Mom's legacy lives on through the lessons she taught us, the love she shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

In lieu of flowers, cash donations to cover funeral costs will be accepted.

A viewing service will be held on 9/7/2024 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Castillo Funeral Home (520 North McMullen Dr, San Antonio, Texas). A private Celebration of Life will follow; the location is TBD.
