Maria Arias, a faithful, god-fearing woman who had a great devotion to the Virgin Mary, loved her family above all else, entered the presence of the Lord on March 19th, 2023. She was 78 years old. Maria was born December 6th, 1944, in Orizaba, Vera Cruz, Mexico. She was the loving wife of Ramon Rosales Arias. They shared 65 years of marriage. Maria was a strong Catholic, primarily attending Christ the King Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX, for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing loteria with her friends at San Juan De Los Lagos Catholic Church but especially, in her home with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress who designed and created her dresses, her children's costumes, and her grandchildren's blankets. She was a gifted cook who loved sharing her amazing dishes with her family and community. She took great pleasure in nurturing her flower garden and singing along to mariachi music as often as possible. She was fond of dancing and traveling with her husband, Ramon. Maria will always be remembered for her strength, compassion, intelligence, and love.
Maria is preceded in death by her son Ramon Arias Jr, her mother Magdalena Perez, her brother Facundo Perez and her son-in-law Jacob Castillo. She is survived by her loving husband, Ramon Rosales Arias; her children Lydia Arias Hernandez, Jose Luis Arias, Luz Elena Rodriquez and
her husband Roberto Rodriquez-Santiago, Andrea Curd and her husband James Curd, Griselda Castillo, Rosa Tello, and Alejandro Arias. Maria is survived by her 26 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom Maria loved and influenced
deeply.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, 28 March 2023, between 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Castillo Funeral Home located at 520 N General McMullen Dr, San Antonio, TX 78228. A rosary will begin at 6:00 pm. Family and friends will meet at Christ the King Catholic Church located at 2610 Perez St., San Antonio, Texas 78207 on Wednesday, 29 March 2023, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am for visitation with Mass to begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at San Fernando II Cemetery.

Compartieron 65 años de matrimonio. esposa de María era una católica fuerte, asistiendo principalmente a la Iglesia Católica Christ the King en San Antonio, TX, durante más de 50 años. Le gustaba jugar lotería con sus amigos en la Iglesia Católica San Juan De Los Lagos, pero especialmente en su casa con su esposo, hijos y nietos. Era una costurera talentosa que diseñó y creó sus vestidos, los disfraces de sus hijos y las mantas de sus nietos. Era una cocinera talentosa a la que le encantaba compartir sus increíbles platos con su familia y la comunidad. Disfrutaba mucho cuidando su jardín de flores y cantando junto a la música de mariachi con la mayor frecuencia posible. Le gustaba bailar y viajar con su marido, Ramón. María siempre será recordada por su fuerza, compasión, inteligencia y amor.
María es precedida en la muerte por su hijo Ramón Arias Jr, su madre Magdalena Pérez, su hermano Facundo Pérez y su yerno Jacob Castillo. A María le sobreviven sus 26 nietos, 25 bisnietos y 2 tataranietos, a todos los cuales María amaba e influyó profundamente.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el martes 28 de marzo de 2023, entre las 4:00 p. m. y las 8:00 p.m. en Castillo Funeral Home, ubicada en 520 N General McMullen Dr, San Antonio, TX 78228. El rosario comenzará a las 6:00 p. m. Familiares y amigos se reunirán en la Iglesia Católica Christ
the King ubicada en 2610 Perez St., San Antonio, Texas 78207 el miércoles 29 de marzo de 2023, de 9:00 a. m. a 10:00 a. m. para el velorio y la Misa comenzará a las 10:00 soy. Seguirá el entierro en el Cementerio de San Fernando II.
