Maria Costilla de Jesus Perez was called home on October 7, 2022 at the age of 69. Maria was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico on Christmas Day in 1952 to the late Julio and Maria Elda Costilla. Maria loved spending time with her family, there was nothing she loved more than her grandbabies. When Maria wasn't with family, she loved playing Bingo, going to The Kickapoo Casino, and listening to her favorite musicians from "Grupo Pesado" play her favorite hits. As she listened to her favorite music Maria would often cook some of her family's favorite dishes like tamales, menudo, and fideo. Maria was loved dearly by her family and her time here with us will always be cherished. Maria is reunited in Heaven with her Parents, Sister Eulalia Costilla de Cortes, and brothers Raul Costilla, Julio Costilla, David Costilla, and Juan Costilla. She is survived by her only son, Atanacio C. Perez III (Sally); grandchildren Valorie (J.J.), Leonard, Alexis, and Fabian II; great-grandchildren Jack, twins Vivianna and Violette, Elijah, Destiny, and Fabian III; great great-grandchild Alanie; siblings Richard Costilla, Leticia Rodriguez, and Javier Costilla.

Visitation will take place on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Prayer Service to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Castillo Funeral Home at 9:00am to depart in procession for a graveside service at First Memorial Park Cemetery at 10:00am.
