Maria C. Ramos, 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2024, surrounded by love and her family at her residence in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on October 21, 1934, in Mexico, a daughter of the late Delfina R. De La Cruz and Nicanor De La Cruz.

Maria accomplished much during her 89 years of life. She contributed those successes to her family and her faith in the Lord. Her enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life is what she is remembered for; gardening, dancing, cooking, sewing, bingo all have a connection to Maria where she seemed to not only excel with but brought her the most enjoyment. Enjoyment because they could be shared with and for the ones who meant the most to her. The time spent with her family was deeply cherished by Maria, she lived for her family and was generous with her support and guidance. Her faith in the Lord was incredibly strong, because of Maria we know one day we will all be reunited once again, someday.

In addition to her parents Delfina R. De La Cruz and Nicanor De La Cruz, she is also preceded in death by a daughter, Leticia Ramos.

Family members include her children, Dora Valdez, Francisco Javier Ramos, Dalia De La Cruz, Socorro Gutierrez, Diana Garcia, Sandra Ramos, Rosario Garcia and Belia Guerrero; 23 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchildren; siblings, Beto De La Cruz, Dominga Santos and Juana Huerta; in addition to numerous extended family members.

The family will receive guests for two days at Castillo Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11, 2024, and on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm for Visitation. The Rosary service will be conducted on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 6:00 pm.

A funeral mass will be conducted on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church at 10:00 am. The burial will follow with a graveside service in San Fernando Cemetery II.
