Maria del Carmen Monzon was called home by the Lord on August 12, 2023, at the age of 98. She was born in Laredo, Texas, on July 16, 1925, and is preceded in death by her husband Jose G. Monzon, her parents Roberto and Maria de Los Angeles Flores, her brother Nicasio Flores, her sister Juanita Flores and her son in law Billy J. Hartley. Carmen was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother.

She is loved and will be greatly missed by her 3 daughters, Maria (Manuel) Ferdin, Frances M. (Billy) Hartley and Carmen G. Monzon; 6 grandchildren; Angie (John) Trevino, Syndy (Pascual) Villegas, Jacob (Anita) Ferdin, Christina (Frank) Lucio, Christopher (Melody) Alvarado and Adrianne (Adrean) Lozano. 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren; a sister Aurora (Dr. Raul) Coronado; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4pm until 8pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, with a Rosary to be recited at 6pm. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30am on Thursday, August 24, 2023, for a 10am mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, 152 Florencia. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery II. The family wishes to express a very sincere appreciation to the staff at Lighting Guide Hospice who lovingly cared for our beloved mother Maria del Carmen.
