Maria Elena Lopez was called home into the arms of our Lord on September 23, 2022 at the age of 58 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Maria was born on December 17, 1963 to Reyes O. and Maria C. Villasana in San Antonio, Texas. Maria was a devoted wife and mother, she always put her family's needs first before her own. She met her husband Francisco Lopez at Edgewood High School when she was just 14 years old and seven years later Maria and Frank tied the knot on July 20, 1985.

In 1999, the Lopez family relocated to Oklahoma City where Frank could continue his career after Kelly AFB closed. Maria enjoyed traveling with her family around The United States like New Mexico, California, Maryland, and South Dakota. Frank and Maria vowed to travel the World once Frank retired, but those plans changed when she fell ill. Maria loved to shop and enjoyed working her crossword puzzles.  When she wasn't shopping or traveling Maria loved to cuddle with her Morkie (Maltese & Yorkie mix) named Bucky.

Maria is reunited in Heaven with her parents and her sisters Teresa Villasana and Sophia Mena. There wasn't anything Maria wouldn't do for her family. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew her. Maria leaves behind her beloved husband of 37 years Frank J. Lopez; son David J. Lopez, daughter-in-law Jessica Garcia,  sister Lucia Milan and brother Reyes O. Villasana Jr.; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart from the funeral home at 10:00am on Thursday, October 6, 2022 for a funeral mass at 10:30am at St. Jude Catholic Church. Interment to follow at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery III.
