Maria G Hernandez at the age of 75 passed peacefully in her sleep on February 27 2026.She was born March 25 1950 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuilla to mom Zepherina and father Dionisio, and she also has a sister named Deioludivina.

My mom studied in Mexico for secretary and bookkeeping but was asked to come to the US to be with her mom and sister. In the US she mostly worked housekeeping in hotels and houses and even at Grist mills packing pie crust and the like. She always worked very hard to help the family and when she had me, her daughter Lydia, she worked hard to make sure I had everything she could give me as well.

Mom liked dancing, baking, reading and different arts. Specifically, writing she loved the most; writing poems and even had written me a few short stories. She was very creative and was an astoundingly good baker. I really wish we had made a souffle we always talked about.

My mom always tried to make the best in all situations even when it was hard to do so. She tried to be so strong for everyone when I wished she would have been able to be sentimental. However she was always the rock of the family: strong but kind, while putting everyone first before herself. I always admired how she loved making jokes to ease the room and made friends with everyone. She was my strong, stubborn, funny, and always kind mommy. My mom always did her best, and she will always be remembered by all our friends and our family.

I will miss her dearly and so will the rest of the family and friends, but she will always be in our hearts.
