Maria M. Gongora, 93, died on Saturday morning (January 7, 2023) at her daughter's residence in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on January 27, 1929, in Santa Cruz De Barcenas Municipio De Ahualulco Del Mercado Jalisco, Mexico, a daughter of the late Maria and Jose Martinez.

Maria enjoyed spending time gardening and cooking for her friends and family. Her capacity for generosity knew no bounds as she would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. A caring wife, mother, and grandmother who will be remembered forever.

In addition to her late parents Maria and Jose Martinez, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Marciano L. Gongora.

Family members include a daughter, Guillermina G. Puente; 3 grandchildren, Gerardo Puente Jr, Edward I. Puente, and Xochilt A. Puente; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 am on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at San Jose Burial Park.
