Maria Luisa Herrera was born on May 29, 1936 in Brownsville, TX to Enrique Klahn Garcia and Maria Luisa Garcia. She enjoyed working as a Certified Nurse Assistant for over 35yrs with the Baptist Health System and then retired. She embraced life with a such a giving manner full of love and laughter to all who knew her. She was passionate about her crafts and her love for music. Maria was called home to rejoice with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2022 at the age of 85. She is preceded in death by her parents and stepmother Lillian Guadalupe Garcia; husband Julio Zamora Herrera; siblings Enrique Garcia Jr., Ramon Garcia, Ramon Jesus Garcia and Hector Garcia. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her children Alberto Herrera (Denise), Leticia Herrera (Roy Cantu), Rosalinda Herrera, Belinda Herrera, Maricela Wilson (Michael); 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings Gabriel Garcia, Lino Garcia, Alfonso Garcia, Elizabeth Garcia Smith, Joe Garcia, Vivian Garcia Montalvo, Jerry Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. Heaven has gained a treasured soul. She will forever live in our hearts.
