Maria J. Garza, 85, widow to Balentin Garza, passed away on July 5, 2024, at her residence in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on September 6, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, a daughter of the late Consuelo Salas and Cipriano Salas.

Maria was an incredible lady who accomplished much during her lifetime. She will be remembered by many and loved eternally.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, Balentin Garza, and her parents, Consuelo Salas and Cipriano Salas, she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Debora Vasquez; grandson, Phillip 'Martha' De Leon; a sister, Rosa Gauna; and brother, Joe Salas and Manuel Salas.

Family members include her children, Tony Uribe (Cindy), Juan Garza (Merry), Elizabeth De Leon (Felipe), Sylvia Aguilar (Joshua), Monica Rodriguez (John) and David Garza (Frank Hernandez); 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Consuelo 'Chelo' Gonzalez and Lile Salas; caregiver of eight years, Diane Gomez; in addition to numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:00 pm for a prayer service.

The burial will be held in San Jose Burial Park on Monday, July 15, 2024, with a graveside service conducted at 11:00 am.
