Maria De Jesus Velez Bueno

Maria Bueno, beloved mother to 14 children, 31 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 25 great great grandchildren, passed away peacefully at her home on August 28, 2025. To the very end, she expressed her love and devotion to every one of her family members with her beautiful smile.

Maria was born in San Antonio on March 9, 1924 to her parents Maria and Macario Velez.

Maria was a devoted mother to Guadalupe Bueno Jr, Antonio Bueno, Linda Garcia, Robert Bueno, Louie Bueno, Mary Helen Bowles, Rosie Mendoza, Daniel Bueno, Janie Aguirre, Connie Ramos, Esperanza Herrera, Consuelo Hernandez, Josie Bueno and Edward Bueno.  She always took special joy in serving and providing for her children. She loved cooking, gardening, fishing and crocheting. Maria traveled the world with her family to Hong Kong, Mexico, San Francisco, New York, Minnesota and Sedona to name a few.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Guadalupe M. Bueno, children Guadalupe Bueno Jr., Antonio Bueno and Linda Garcia.

The funeral will be held on September 12, 2025 at Castillo Funeral Home, Chapel A, 520 N. General McMullen, San Antonio, TX

Visitation: 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Rosary: 6pm
