Maria Cecilia Leal, Born on November 26, 1964, peacefully left this world on November 27, 2023, as she slept gracefully. She succumbed to natural causes as she battled Diabetes, Kidney Failure and Congestive Heart Failure.

Maria was a beacon of light and warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Born in the Bronx, New York, she spent her early years immersed in the simple joys of life. She graduated from James Monroe High School and pursued many careers in paralegal, Tele-communications, and Consumer banking.

Outside of her professional life, Maria was very much into fashion, as well as enjoyed the culinary arts purely for her own pleasure. She was also an avid animal lover as she cared for many different animals in her lifetime. She mostly enjoyed being a mother to her two sons, Jesus Pastrana and Joseph Leal. Nothing gave her more joy than caring for her children. She also loved nothing more in this world than being a Grandmother to Jael Pastrana.

She is Survived by her loving children, Jesus Pastrana and Joseph Leal, her loving sister Diana Neverez, her loving brother Henry Padin, her loving Nieces and Nephews Vidal Pastrana, Tatiana Nevarez-Halls, Shaun Nevarez, and their children as well as her grandson Jael Pastrana and grand daughter Versace Cortez.

A celebration of Maria's life will be held Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 at 7:00 PM at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 617 S Santa Rosa Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78204.
