Obituary

Our cherished matriarch and beloved earth angel, Maria Elena Limas, peacefully earned her angel wings on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2026, at the blessed age of 92. Though her passing was bittersweet, we take comfort knowing she was welcomed by her first love, Jesus Christ, and reunited with her devoted lifelong sweetheart, Deacon Eddie Limas Sr. She left this world in the serenity of her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Mary was known by all as a woman of unwavering faith, timeless beauty, and remarkable grace. Her striking looks—reminiscent of a Hollywood movie star—were matched only by her signature red lipstick, and she was often told she appeared twenty years younger. Yet it was her inner beauty that left the deepest impression. She radiated love, light, and peace, and everyone blessed to cross her path would describe her as an "earth angel."

Wise, dignified, and endlessly energetic, she inspired her children and grandchildren to lovingly nickname her the "Energizer Bunny." While motherhood was her greatest and most cherished calling, she also dedicated many years to her professional life as an Insurance Underwriter before retiring from the Private Industry Council of El Paso, a nonprofit organization where she found joy in helping youth.

Mary lived her faith through service. She spent years as an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, a leader for Women's ACTS Retreats, and a devoted leader in Adult Religious Education at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

In her spare time, she treasured family gatherings, especially Christmas—loved playing Bingo,  going to Kickapoo Casino, loved to dance and joyfully celebrated every birthday at Henry's Puffy Tacos.

In addition to her parents, Felix and Ofelia Barron, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Deacon Heriberto "Eddie" Limas, Sr., and her brothers, Roberto Inez (Beto) Barron and Luis Alfonso Barron.

She is lovingly survived by her sister Dolores Dominguez, son, Eddie Limas Jr., and her daughters, Yvette Silva, Rosie and her husband Guadalupe Rocha and Sylvia "Bonnie" and her husband Manny Najera. Mary leaves behind a beautiful legacy carried on through her eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Favorite Prayer "The Divine Mercy - Three O'clock Hour Prayer"

You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. … O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You.
