Our beloved mother and grandmother or as most of us call her wella , Maria Muniz, passed away on August 6, 2024, after a short illness. She was 75.

Maria was known for her kind heart. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. She raised Juan Muniz 49 in a happy and loving home in both Mexico and the United States. She raised him to be independent and thoughtful. Maria was married to Ramiro Muniz (76) for 60 years, she married him at the age of 15 and ever since she dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She loved her gossip and getting after everyone for drinking that one cold soda she always hid from us. she loved all the dogs we ever brought home.

She ensured we as a family stayed together. She also introduced us to the world of loteria, Baraja, flea markets and just watching novelas in the living room. She had memorized every single chapter in La Rosa de Guadalupe as that was her favorite novela.

She raised her grandchildren as she took them to Mexico for vacations. She raised her granddaughters (Delia , Maria "Lupe"& Iris) they lived with her as she taught them how to become the beautiful young women they are today. She taught them how to make her home made tortillas, her menudo & our delicious recipes. Her grandchildren were her entire world and will miss her deeply.

Wella is loved and will be missed by her husband, Ramiro Muniz; son Juan Muniz; and grandchildren Jesse Corona, Delia, Maria, Iris, Lillie, and Maddie (Muniz), Efrain Chavez and Victoria Ortega.
