Maria Emma Navarro was called home by the Lord on May 18, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kerrville, Texas to Alfredo and Eudemia De La Rosa on September 27, 1930. Before marriage Emma was a migrant farm worker, traveling to Michigan seasonally to work in the fields. Emma was a home maker for the first 19 years of her marriage. She then sought employment at the Santa Rosa Hospital Dietary Department where she worked for the next 20 years. In her retirement, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Emma built a life centered on family, instilling the value of education in her children and providing unconditional support. She was known for her story telling, sense of humor, cooking and strong discipline. She took immense pride in her children’s accomplishments and establishing traditions. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her children.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Damian G Navarro, her parents Alfredo and Eudemia De La Rosa, brothers Gilberto and Alfredo De La Rosa, and sister Zoila De La Rosa.
She will be forever missed by sons Eduardo Navarro and Jaime Navarro (Michelle), and daughters Elida Navarro (†Roger), Zoila Navarro (Richard), and Melinda Navarro (Mark). Also, 10 grandchildren including Edward (Veronica), Kathryn (Justin), Jacob (Erica), Richard Damian, Eric, Ivana (Sarah), Cristina (Pedro), Madalyn, Dylan, and Cooper. In addition, 12 great- grandchildren which include Makayla, Sophia, Gilbert, Edward, Madison, Milo, Elara, Jacob, Memphis, Olivia, Charlotte and Daniel. Siblings Yolanda (Martin) and Rogelio (Norma). Finally, numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
