Maria C. Orozco, 90, widow of Ralph M. Orozco, went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born May 15, 1933, in Losoya, Texas, a daughter of the late Melitona Rodrigues and Pablo Cervantes.

Maria was dedicated to providing and protecting her family through her love for those close to her heart, the unwavering support to accomplish anything through her faith in the Lord. She took care of a home that was always a sanctuary, evident in the attention to detail inside and out. The many years of delicious food as she loved to cook and bake; and her creativity, as such was to be admired since it seemed there wasn't anything she couldn't do. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, painting and a vast array of arts and crafts, including Easter egg decorating and baking cookies for the holidays. She lives now in memories through those who love her, and we are assured through faith that everyone is reunited in heaven someday. This provides us the strength to live life as she did, in honor of Maria.

In addition to her husband of 73 years, Ralph M. Orozco and her parents Melitona Rodrigues and Pablo Cervantes, she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jane Orozco and two sons, Jesse Orozco and Baby Boy Orozco.

Family members include her children, Ralph C. Orozco, Dolores O. Hernandez, Maria Del Carmen Orozco, Esmeralda C. Orozco, David C. Orozco, Maria Orozco Apolinar, Martha Orozco Fortunato and Frank Orozco; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bertha Garcia; and numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:00 pm for a Chapel Service.

A committal service will be conducted on Thursday, January 18, 2024, with final blessing under shelter one at 10:00 am in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
