My beloved Maria Del Rocio Pelayo peacefully passed away on the morning of February 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her children, her nueras, and her grandchildren. She was 58 years old but 25 at heart. She was born in Santa Rosalía Municipio de Ayutla Jalisco, Mexico, on December 6, 1967.

Rocio grew up on her parents' farm with 11 of her siblings. She and her siblings were always close and happy by spending their time accomplishing side quests in their town with the locals. She was the youngest of the women and the oldest of 3 men in the family.

She immigrated to California in her mid-20s, where she had her children, earned her citizenship, and owned her first home with a pool and all the plants and flowers one could possibly imagine.  She moved to Texas in 2006 with her family, where she accomplished her dream of becoming a hairstylist to the very end.

She was a talented hairstylist, an excellent barber, a delightful manager, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother, and the best mother to ever have.  She was always loving and affectionate, not only to her loved ones but also to strangers who needed it.

She will be missed by her 2 sons, Luis Morales, Erick Morales; daughter Vanessa Morales; 2 nueras, Sabrina Morales and Alicia Morales; 2 grandchildren, Luis Jr Morales and Dalilah Morales; her siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family, friends, and colleagues.

Rocio is and will always be loved and will live in our hearts.

Mi querida María Del Rocío Pelayo falleció pacíficamente en la madrugada del viernes  del 13 de febrero de 2026, rodeada por el amor de sus hijos, sus nueras y sus nietos. Tenía 58 años, pero siempre se siente 25 . Nació en Santa Rosalía Municipio de Ayutla Jalisco, México, el 6 de Diciembre de 1967.

Rocío creció en el Rancho Los Cerritos con sus padres  y sus 11 hermanos. Ella y sus hermanos siempre fueron cercanos y muy felices, siempre pasando su tiempo cumpliendo misiones secundarias en su Rancho y Pueblo de Santa Rosalía. Ella era la hija menor de las mujeres y mayor de 3 hombres en su familia

Emigró a California a mediados de sus veintitantos, donde tuvo a sus hijos, obtuvo su ciudadanía y fue dueña de su primera casa con piscina y todas las plantas y flores imaginables. Se mudó a Texas en 2006 con su familia, donde cumplió su sueño de ser estilista hasta el final.

Era una guerrera y trabajadora incansable, sus oficios fueron ser una gran peluquera, muy buena barbiera, buena gerente, excelente hermana, tía, abuela y la mejor madre que jamás haya tenido. Ella siempre fue muy feliz, optimista, valiente, sonriente, amorosa, alegre, paciente,trabajadora y cariñosa.

Le van a extrañar sus 3 hijos, Luis, Erick, Vanessa Morales, sus 2 nueras Sabrina Morales y Alicia Morales; 2 nietos, Luis Jr Morales y Dalilah Morales; sus 10 hermanos, numerosos sobrinos, y familia extendida, amigos, parientes, paisanos y colegas.

Rocío es y será amada por siempre y estará y vivirá en nuestros corazones

Oh admirable Santa Rosalía, que decidida a reproducir en ti misma la imagen de tu único bien, el Redentor Crucificado, te entregaste a los rigores de la más dura penitencia en la soledad de una caverna, en la cual hiciste tu deleite el cansancio de las vigilias y los ayunos, y la mortificación de tu inocente carne con flagelos; alcánzanos a nosotros la gracia de dominar siempre, con el ejercicio de la mortificación evangélica todos nuestros deseos rebeldes, y de alimentar nuestro espíritu con la meditación más devota de las verdades cristianas, porque solo así podemos obtener el verdadero bienestar en esta vida y la eterna felicidad en el cielo.

Funeral viewing is on Sunday, February 22nd from 4-8pm and will be located at 520 N General McMullen dr, San Antonio Tx 78228 at Castillos Funeral Home. The cemetery where she will be laid to rest will be at Meadowlands Memorial Park 5611 E Houston St, San Antonio Texas 78220. Monday February 23, 10:30am to noon at the Promise Garden Section 92.
