Maria Pena Flores, aged 85, passed away on June 19, 2024, in San Antonio, TX. Born on January 2, 1939, in Allende, Nuevo León, Mexico, Maria was a cherished figure in her community and among her loved ones.
Maria was renowned for her skills as an expert seamstress, bringing joy and comfort to many through her craft. Her dedication extended beyond her professional endeavors into her personal passions. A devout church member, Maria was actively involved in various church functions, often volunteering her time and talents. She sang in the church choir, cooked for community events, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and arts & crafts, infusing love and care into every activity.
Her kind-hearted and loving nature was evident in the way she lived her life, deeply rooted in her faith and love for God. Maria's legacy of warmth and generosity is carried on by her family and all who knew her.
Maria is survived by her loving family, including her daughters Mary Pena; Noehmy Flores and her husband Raymond; Diana Elkins and her husband Marty; Esther Pryde and her husband Keith; her granddaughter Marlo Hall and her husband George; her grandson Raymond Flores, Jr.; her grandson Joshua Pryde and wife Nicole; her grandson Nicolas Pryde and wife Natasha; and her great-granddaughter Wren Hall; and great grandson Camden Pryde; and siblings Joe Flores and wife Rachel, Isaias Flores, Alex Flores and wife Marisol; She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julian T. Pena.
The family will receive guests for visitation at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N General McMullen Dr, San Antonio, TX 78228, on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A prayer service will be held at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, TX 78226.
Maria's life and spirit will be remembered and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
