Maria G. Santoya

11/21/1936 – 11/14/2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria G. Santoya, on 11/14/2024 at home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, whose memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Born in San Antonio, Texas on 11/21/1936 she was born to Manuel and Genoveva Gomez.

She will be remembered for her love, sense of humor and wisdom.  Maria loved plants and every chance she got, she would be outside watering her plants and giving advice on how to make them grow.  She deeply loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her family and friends will always carry the memories they created with her in their hearts.

Maria was predeceased by her parents, Manuel Gomez and Genoveva Gomez.  Her brothers and sisters, Francisco Gomez, Steven Gomez, Juan Gomez, Estella Contreras and Elvira Sanchez.  Her loving husband, Bernando Santoya. She is survived by her immediate family, Robert Gomez and spouse Cynthia Gomez, Irma Wold, and Alice Mendoza and spouse April Mendoza, Esther Santoya and spouse Sabrina Lucchetta and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her spirit will remain in our hearts.

Visitation will be at Castillo's Funeral Home located at 520 N. General McMullen Dr, San Antonio Texas on Wednesday Dec. 4, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm.  Prayer service will begin promptly at 6pm.  Maria will be laid to rest on Thursday Dec. 5, 2024, we will be departing from Castillo's Funeral Home at 9:30am and will be arriving at San Fernando Cemetery #3 at 1735 Cupples Rd, San Antonio Texas at 10am.
