Maria O. Saucedo, fondly known as Nena, age 75, passed away peacefully in her home on March 30, 2025.  Born on September 3, 1949, in Mexico, to the late Ramon Ortiz and Nieves De La Paz, who survives her.  Maria lived most of her live in San Antonio, TX.

A passionate Gardner, her front yard was always a vibrant garden in full bloom, a visual delight for all who passed by. Her Culinary talents were equally celebrated, particularly her legendary Spanish rice and potato salad, staples at family gatherings.  Her fiery hot sauce, a reflection of her spirited personality.  Above all, she cherished her family and found immense comfort in the presence of loved ones, appreciating those who traveled from afar, during her final days.

Maria is survived by her mother, Nieves De La Paz, her daughters, Norma Quiroz (Manny), Denise Saucedo and her only son, Edward Saucedo (Spouse).  Her brothers Ramon Roberto Ortiz, Juan Jose Ortiz De La Paz , Raul Ortiz (Mary Ann) and Juan Ortiz (Maria).  Her sisters, Alma Rosa Ortiz De La Paz and Maria Catalina Ortiz De Hernandez. Stepchildren, Martha Nerio, Juan Saucedo, Ramon Saucedo, Isabel Saucedo and Mario Saucedo.

Grandchildren include David Maldonado, Damon Maldonado, Talia Maldonado, Rushelle Saucedo, Amber Riojas, Amy Saucedo and Sarah Saucedo.

Great-Grandchildren, Cameron Fischenich, Josiah Milner, Sofia Maldonado, Quentin Maldonado, Rozlynn Saucedo, Railynn, Adyn, Jay, Izaak, Jayden.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Juan G. Saucedo and her father, Ramon Ortiz.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Castillo Funeral Home/Chapel A, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Nena's interment and celebration of life will be held graveside at cemetery San Fernando #2, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10:30 am.

Nena has been called to her eternal rest.  Her absence will be deeply felt, and she will be dearly missed.
