Maria Socorro (Sokie) Sandoval passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday February 14, 2023 at the age of 63. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to mother Francisca Mireles and father Paul Perez on June 28, 1959. Maria was dedicated to taking care of her family as a homemaker, she would reunite with her childhood friend Reynaldo Sandoval and be happily married for 27 years until her passing.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Paul Perez and Frances Mireles; son Manuel Benavidez, and grandson Damian Garza. Maria leaves behind her loving husband of 27 years Reynaldo Sandoval; step-father Felipe Mireles; daughters Angela Garza, Monica Wilson, Gabriela Alvarez, Olivia Pavia, Anna Sandoval, Laura Sandoval; sons Abel Sandoval and Ricky Garza; daughter Christina Sandoval; and son Ray Sandoval III; grandchildren Sabrina Alvarez, Joe Sauceda, Selena Sauceda, Savannah Tabor, Carlos Sauceda, Alex Sandoval, Logan Reyna, Shawn Wilson, Jason Wilson, Gabriel Wilson, Derek Perez, Natalie Perez, Priscilla Perez, Robert Sandoval, Adrian Cruz, Jasmine Cruz, Alyssa Cruz, Alaina Menchaca, Alisa Menchaca, Diego Menchaca, Benjamin Pavia, Malieah Pavia, Joshua Cardenas, Joseph Cardenas, Rolando Garza, Alexia Garza, Brett Garza, Ricky Garza Jr., Alanna Garza, Zeda Garza, Denise Benavides, and Gabriel Benavides; 35 great-grandchildren; and Brothers Roy Perez, Albert Perez, Paul Perez; and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will gather at Castillo Funeral Home for a Prayer Service at 10:00am on Saturday, February 18, 2023 with Burial to follow at Meadowlawn Memorial Park.
