In Loving Memory
At the age of 89, Maria Aurora Fernandez Trevino, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, and devotion.
She was born in Cienega de Flores, Nuevo León, Mexico, where her life began surrounded by family and the traditions she carried with her throughout her years.
At the age of 18 she made the courageous journey to the United States with her husband, who was 21 at the time. Together, they began a new chapter of their lives, building a home, raising a family, and creating a legacy that would span generations.
They were blessed with 71 years of marriage, sharing a lifetime filled with love, challenges, accomplishments, family milestones, and countless memories. Through all of life's seasons, Aurora & Alejandro remained by each other's side, building a beautiful life together.
A Heart that Embraced All
Together, they raised three children, and their family continued to grow to include four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment with them and found immense happiness in watching each generation grow, flourish, and carry her love forward.
For over 50 years, she was a beloved part of Sendero Assembly Of God, where she shared her faith and built lifelong relationships.
Her love was generous and unwavering, reaching everyone she welcomed into her life. While raising her own family, she also opened her home and her heart to care for many other children while their parents were working. She provided them with a safe, loving, and nurturing space where they were cared for as though they were her own.
Those children were never forgotten, and they never forgot her. Many remained in contact with her throughout the years and continue to cherish her as a beloved member of their own family. The love she gave them became a lifelong bond that continues to this day.
She had a special gift for making people feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. Her home became a place of belonging, where families gathered, love was shared, and cherished memories were made.
Her Legacy Lives On
Her life was a testament to love, sacrifice, family, and faith. From her beginnings in Mexico to the life she and her husband built together in the United States, She manifested a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will continue to inspire generations to come.
She leaves behind her beloved husband Alejandro Fernandez of 71 years, their three children, Alexander Fernandez, Haide Fernandez, and Laura Fernandez, four grandchildren Sarah C. Fernandez, Alexander Scott Fernandez, Aaron D. Fernandez, and Andres S. Fernandez, ten great-grandchildren, extended family, dear friends, and the many individuals and families who loved her dearly.
Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will continue through every generation she poured into, every family she supported, and every life she helped shape. Her greatest legacy is the love she gave and the love she inspired in others.
A wife for 71 years.
A mother of three.
A grandmother of four.
A great-grandmother of ten.
And a loving soul to many, many more.
She lived not for material aspirations, but for the people she loved and the time they shared together. Her family & friends will forever carry her memory in their hearts, cherishing the love she gave us and the impact she made on all of our lives.
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” — 1 Peter 4:8
