Maria Christina Vargas affectionately known as "Cha Cha"left to be with our lord on June 22 2024 at the age of 55. She was born on January 3, 1969 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a dedicated nurse for over 25 years making countless memories along the way. She will especially be remembered by the wonderful grandmother she was to all her grandchildren. Among her hobbies baking was her passion by far which is a big reason why her family will always look forward to their birthdays. She will truly be missed by her family, friends and all that knew her. She is reunited in heaven with her father Nicholas Zavala, stepfather Thomas Robledo and sister Andrea Zavala. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by daughter Jessica Vargas, son Michael Vargas, Mother Sarah Robledo, sister Rebecca Jasso (Leeroy), brothers Nicholas Zavala, Jose Zavala, and Vincent Zavala (Gloria) plus numerous family and friends. Visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. that evening. A formal funeral home departure will occur on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St Agnes Catholic Church with Interment to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
