Maria V. Ybarra was called home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2021 at the blessed age of 90 years old, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on January 22, 1931 to Luciano and Jovita Perez Vela. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, her son, James A. Jennings, her loving husband of 48 years, Geronimo Ybarra, sisters, Josefina V. Casiano, Aurora V. Bustamante, Maria Elena L. Gutierrez, and her brothers, Pedro Vela, Arturo Leija and Juan Antonio Leija.

Maria is loved and will truly be missed by her daughter; Christina L. Morante (Rick), sons, Geronimo H. Ybarra (Joyce Noriega), James Ybarra (Stephanie), 3 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister, Gloria L. Deleon, brother, Aniceto Leija, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Maria found joy in her life through simple pleasures; she loved gardening, listening and dancing to all types of music, she loved playing loteria, "Bingo Queen", cooking and baking,  and she most cherished spending time with her family. She simply adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated, loving mother and grandmother whose sacrifices will forever be remembered. Cherished by her family and friends for her unconditional love, kindness and generosity, Maria was the pillar of strength and integrity and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Heaven has gained our most dearest blessing. She will live forever in our hearts.
